Kyle Harder

Kyle Harder

Kyle was born and raised in Texas. Left after graduating from Univ. of Texas to live in Tehran Iran (3 years) while working for Bell Helicopter as a computer programmer and Seattle (2 years). Returned to Ft. worth Texas in 1980 to continue working as a contract computer programmer. Married, had a son Jesse, (attended UT) and step daughter, divorced, and remarried in 1998 to his wonderful wife Dorathy (a Malaysian native, stepson Wey Jian). Kyle had planned to retire just prior to his death and live primarily in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. His family had traveled extensively in the far east along with several tours of Europe and America.  Kyle passed away from colon cancer.

From Kipp Baker: Kyle and I became friends after Paschal, during my time at UT and he was largely responsible for my employment with Bell helicopter many years later, since I continued to think about them over time. Kyle had helped my hire with Bell Helicopter in 1979 to work in Iran - but I backed out of it just in time to miss being a hostage. After touring around Europe, he came back to the states about that same time. Quiet and reserved unless with the closest of friends, he had quite the wit and we had many wonderful experiences together until work and families took priority. We had recently reconnected and had planned a get-together after all these years, but his illness - never revealed - never allowed it.
