Rusty Gates was a good friend in high school. As a transfer from an out of state high school I appreciated that Rusty was very good about making this new student feel very welcome. His great friendship contributed mightily to making my Paschal experience a memorable one.

I still want to participate in the planning of our fiftieth reunion even though I'll be in New England for 6 months.  I can search for classmates or do whatever is needed that I can do from a distance!  We will be back in mid-October but not leaving here till first part of May if there is a meeting prior to that!?

Thanks,

Hope Griffith Matthews

I hope you all have a good time....but I didnt recognize any one at the reunion committee. I would not know anyone at the reunion. 50 years is a long time...even though it seemed to go by fast!

I have changed my mind and think it would be fun to see whats going on at the reunion. So wear name tags so I know who you are!!

Please contact Nicki Thompson Tyler if you are willing to volunteer (ntyler@travistile.com or text 5124313540):

We need some volunteers to do some very needed tasks for us to enhance our experience at our 50th reunion. You just need either a good digital camera and/or a cell phone with a good camera lense to take individual pictures of yearbook photos of all our seniors from 1968.  Unfortunately the archived photos are of very poor digital quality of roughly 7kb, which cannot be enlarged so we must create our own digital files.  This can be done at your home and we will send you a link to upload them.  WE NEED YOU!! (and you just thought you would not be needed!)

All you photographers out there, bring your cameras and share the experience of our 50th reunion.  Yes, YOU, bring your camera to all the activities of our Paschal High School Class of 1968 reunion and then upload pictures to a link we will provide and we can ALL enjoy the memories!  COME to the reunion, and BRING your camera!  The only clicks at our reunion will be the cameras!!!  WE NEED YOU!

We are attemting to put together a cheerleader/PSOP/Spirt "antiques" display at  our Reunion. If you have any items we can use like game ribbons, shirts, hats, sweaters, megaphones, game programs, pictures etc. please let us know and we will arrange to pick them up and return them afterwards. Look in your closets and old trunks and see what you can find to help us make this work. Thanks, Cheryl Phillips Browning and David Bloxom

Hi all! The Magnolia Motor Lounge looks like a nice quiet spot to get comfortable and visit so to catch up with long lost old friends! Those 4" x 4" post  tables will be perfect!

Hi, Hope, I remember our class very well. It never even occurred to me that there was a picture, but I bet you’re right. I would love to see it. The church might have those records. I remained extremely active in the First Pres youth group till we graduated.  It was a big part of my life.

Hi Cathy!  Yeah, those were some of the best times with the youth group.  Sheryl Shockley and I went every Sun morning and evening and Wed eves as well.  Great memories!

Y'all jogged my memory...thanks!  I was a member of the Westcliff Methodist Church "MYF" Methodist Youth Fellowship.  The church is not longer located where we attended, but it would be great to see some pictures of our various activities.

Ben and I attended Church together. We dated a couple of times. Always a gentleman and so funny.

I am not sure where to post this but it needs to be somewhere.  One of Paschal's most distinguished alums has passed away on May 26, 2018.  He was Alan Bean, the 4th man to walk on the moon.  He is only one of 12 humans to walk on the moon and he went to Paschal!  He was not in our class, but PHS '50.  He was also a distinguished artist.  I worked with NASA at the Johnson Space Center for the better part of my career and was steeped in Space Stuff.  I wasn't sure anyone else was aware of Capt. Bean's accomplishments or his passing.

Thank you John Dickey, yes, there was a  post on the "Fallen Classmates site":

Yes, John Dickey.  Alan Bean's sister, Paula, worked for my father at the U.S. Weather Bureau - Fort Worth Regional Office in the 60's and 70's.  When I was 16 or 17, after Alan Bean had been selected as an astronaut but before anyone knew who he was, he wrote a personal letter to me (probably at my father's request) with autographed photos and NASA material, etc.  He was really proud to be a Paschal Panther and I followed his career closely.  Do you remember that he took a Paschal Flag to the Moon and had a ticker tape parade in Fort Worth after coming back from the Moon.  I was sad to hear of his passing.
