Robert Dana Downard, 51, a management sales worker, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2002, at his residence.

Funeral: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carriage House Chapel, Martin Thompson Funeral Home, 224 E. College, Grapevine. Burial: 1 p.m. Tuesday at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday.

Memorials: Irving Humane Society.

Dana was a former Fort Worth policeman and had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam era. He was active with veterans affairs in outreach programs for NA and AA.

Survivors: Fiancee, Robbie Alexander; daughter, Alicia Mae Downard; son, Stephen Brannon and his wife, Heather; daughter, Stephanie Brannon; parents, Robert and Doris Downard; sister, Cindy Bolton; and numerous other friends and relatives.
