Roger Allan Guess passed away peacefully on Thursday, Dec 23, 2021. He was 71.

Roger was born on November 7, 1950 in Omaha, Nebraska to Floyd and Jeannine Guess and was the oldest of three siblings. He graduated from Paschal High in Fort Worth and from UT Arlington with a degree in Business. He later obtained his CPA. He was the first in his family to graduate from both high school and college.

Roger spent the majority of his career working for the federal government. Upon his retirement, he engaged in freelance accounting work.

He married Phyllis Jean Brown in 1977. Their son, Brian, was born in 1980, and their daughter, Shelley, was born in 1983.

He was a loving father and committed Christian. Roger enjoyed reading, cruising, traveling, and playing bridge. He also enjoyed teasing his daughter mercilessly about his chihuahua, Ariel, whom Shelley is still convinced is a demon dog.

The funeral will be held at Moore Funeral Home on North Davie Drive. Service begins at 2pm with a graveside service afterward. Viewing is from 1 to 2pm.

Roger was preceded in death by his father. Survivors include wife Phyllis, son Brian, daughter Shelley, his brother Leslie and sister-in-law Carolyn, and his sister, Barbara.
