Mike died in either 2010 or 2011 in Houston. He had been sick for a long time. Mike and I didn't know each other until our senior year in high school but we became instant friends and I kept up with him more than anybody else after we graduated. I came to love the guy. I really miss him. Rick Selcer

Mike and I were roommates at Baylor University duduring our junior year in the Howell Apartments.Mike was pre-dental & he hardly ever studied. Mike had a photographic memory.
I was pre-med and I studied 18 hours per day !
Mike & I ended up at Texas Medical Center. Mike was in dental school & I was in medical school.
Mike told me I was going "to go blind" by studying so much. Mike introduced me to....let us say....a substance which was not legal.
I tried it one time & I thought I was going to die !
Mike became a very good orthodontist.
May he rest in peace.
SIC 'EM BEARS !

Richard, thanks for the memories...I lived down the street from Mike our senior year...my did we have fun. Such a crazy guy. While his wrecked Camaro was being repaired he rode to school with me every day. One day he had a big bulging something in one of his books...a bottle of vodka. Glad no one checked his locker. So many funny stories just like this. I visited him in Houston while in school there and the last time I talked with him he was living in Houston, was I a serious relationship with a nurse and had sold his practice.

Dear Dianna: hello. Thank you so very much for your remembrance of Mike. Yes, Mike did have a problem with alcohol. This continued at Baylor. Mike was quite the "party animal". But Mike was naturally gifted with a very high IQ. He could party all weekend, study some before tests & he would make an A or a B in all his classes at Baylor. It made me so mad that I had to study all the time ! It is now no doubt to me that Mike did struggle with alcohol & other drugs. But he was SO SMART with his IQ....he was a very high functioning alcoholic. I have know other professionals....doctors, dentists & lawyers....just like Mike. Dianna, thank you for your remembrance of Mike. Very sincerely, Rick
