I am saddened to hear about Doug, I know the past few months have been difficult for family and friends. I will always remember Doug as a kind-hearted soul, friendly to all who knew him. He was a tiger in athletics, a mix of natural ability, a strong heart, a never-give-up attitude, and a committed team player, all mixed in a bowl and poured into a small-framed body. I was fortunate to visit with Doug at one of the reunions and luncheons. He mentioned that he never thought of himself as small. In my mind, he will always be a big man with a large heart.
I met Doug in 7th grade. We remained friends through our graduation when life called each of us in different directions. He was kind, generous, and always honorable.
May his memory be a blessing to all those who knew him. RIP
