George MacMillan

George Vincent MacMillan, 54, of Arkansas City, formerly of Fort Worth, Texas, died Thursday (September 18, 2003) at the Via Christi Medical Center - St. Joseph's Campus of Wichita. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday (September 22, 2003) at the First Assembly of God Church of Arkansas City. Burial will follow in the Parker Cemetery. Pastor James Newman will officiate.

George was born December 6, 1948 in Wichita Falls, Texas to George W. and Lovetta (Cook) MacMillan. He was reared and educated in the Fort Worth area, graduating from the Paschal High School in 1968. He later attended South West Texas State University. George owned and operated several restaurants in the Fort Worth area for many years before moving to Arkansas City in 1991. On December 6, 1991 George married Susan Manley in Arkansas City. He attended the First Assembly of God Church.

Survivors include his wife Susan of the home; four sons Greg and his wife Melissa MacMillan of Fort Worth, Chris and his wife Janice of Canyon, Texas, Brett and Ryan both of the home; two daughters Julie and her husband Dustin Malcolm of Flower Mound, Texas, Stephanie MacMillan of Arkansas City; one brother Gary and his wife Lisa MacMillan of Azle, Texas; and one sister Sharon James of Fort Worth.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial has been established with the First Assembly of God Church. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.

Arrangements are being made by the Rindt-Erdman Funeral Home of Arkansas City, Kansas.
